The base material of aluminum foil tape turns the adhesive into aluminum foil tape. In other words, the substrate plays the role of fixing the adhesive. But its important functions don't stop there. Substrate and foil tape, the mission of the substrate is to fix the adhesive and primer first. It is relatively thin, has excellent elasticity and is very lubricating. Therefore, it is suitable for almost all applications in all places and designs. The substrate itself can vary widely - and because of this, it can play an important role depending on where the foil tape is used, how long it works, and what its specific purpose is.

Substrates can withstand a certain force and can be accurately separated under a specific force; can be transparent or reflective; can have good permeability and can also act as a barrier (such as moisture or oxygen) ); can be very thin (1.5 microns = 0.059 mils) or very thick (3 mm or 118 mils). Modern substrates can act as gap fillers or noise dampeners; also allow foil tape to be machined or die cut.

It is roughly divided into six categories: conventional aluminum foil tape (with liner/without liner), single and double-sided reinforced aluminum foil tape, glass fiber cloth aluminum foil tape, flame retardant aluminum foil tape, black paint aluminum foil tape, aluminized film tape. Conventional aluminum foil tape is commonly used in electrical appliances. It has good viscosity, good heat preservation and electromagnetic shielding function. Single and double-sided reinforced aluminum foil tape is a composite material with glass fiber yarn reinforcement between aluminum foil and kraft paper. In addition to the functions of ordinary aluminum foil tape, it also has the functions of waterproof, mildew proof and heat insulation. It is used for pipeline insulation, external protection of cooling and heating equipment, and thermal insulation of buildings and hotels.
